In MA: Starting to crow, time to go! Two lovely 7 week old roos - a Rhode Island Red and an Easter E

Incubated and raised from eggs from MPC with my class - have two roos to re-home. Both are healthy, full of personality, and used to being handled by small children and adults alike! (And yes - that’s an Easter Egger with a single comb!)

Everett isn't an Easter Egger with that comb. He's probably a blue Andalusian unless you ordered rare breed eggs.

You did well to only get 2 out of 10 cockerels. My hatches are usually the other way around, 8 out of 10 cockerels.
 
Thanks, Keesmom! I had wondered about “Everett,” but am absolutely sure he came out of a blue egg marked EE, so the egg was mis-marked, maybe? And I only wish I’d gotten only two roos - I’ve already re-homed two others, and a couple of other chicks are still in the “to be determined, but hopefully a hen” category. ;-)

EEs have pea combs, his is straight. If he is an EE with the wrong comb then it is unlikely he carries the blue gene. The 2 traits are closely linked.

For the "TBD" ones, you can post pictures in What Breed or Gender forum. They are old enough to sex now.
