Well if you don't want to protect whats yours that's your business.Awe, I couldn't do that. I agree that I have a right to keep chickens and anything harming them on my property should be gone, but she's had those cats a long time. And I play with them as much or more than she does. I couldn't hurt them. Plus she's a good neighbor and I couldn't just make her cats disappear. I know, I know....
If my neighbors animals/pets get out once in awhile I'm OK with it as stuff happens.
But if my neighbor lets their animals/pets roam freely into my yard/property or it becomes a regular event then I have a right to exercise my right to protect what's mine by whatever legal means are necessary.
If the cats do harm your chickens I don't want to see any posts from you crying about it here.
Maybe someone more experienced could enlighten us on DP traps and cats.
It might be that they get caught but can be released harmlessley? IDK but it's a possibility if the live traps are not working any longer for you.
One of my biggest threats here are Bald Eagles. I can't do any harm to them but my run is covered in a good quality commercial Salmon Seine net I got from my dads neighbor for free.
I know they cannot break this netting.
That and bears are always a threat and I eventually plan to add some electric fence around my coop and run sometime in the future. Short of that you really cant bear proof much of anything. At least not our big Alaska bears.
