Is it necessary to medicate pheasants before their first steps outside? In the wild obviously not all chicks get treatment making me wonder is there much point? Or is it worth spending a few quid on treatment? Thanks in advance

The reason we treat them if penned up they are constantly walking and pecking at the ground they walk on.Who knows what they can pick up from their own crap.So worming is a must on pen raised birds. If you plan on releasing them I would give them a dose of vitamins and electrolytes before you open the door. This will give them a little energy boost.

Hi Tony.. Can you tell me what kind of wormer you suggest for penned pheasants? I have used Wazine in the water but just not sure it does the job. Thanks

Wazine 17 is a very weak dose.Wazine 34 is a higher dose.I use 3cc per gallon of water.I use ivemec. Some people suggest safeguard.I have never used it.
