Plant identification help please

Not Hibiscus, not Rose of Sharon.... looking at it today, it almost looks like it wants to vine, at the very top... I know I had purchased some climbers from Michigan Bulb last year... I just looked up my purchase history, I ordered: Yellow Trumpet Vine and a Trumpet Vine Gabor. Neither one of these made it this year as far as I can tell.. unless this might be one of them. I'm gonna do some poking around online too.

Thank you, @CTKen. I'm gonna check that link out.

I don't think it's Nightshade either. :/

My guess would be trumpet vine. If it is, any part of the root that's left in the soil can re-grow. Really hard to get rid of from what I understand. Same thing with English ivy, which I've been fighting for a couple of years. Previous owners had planted it next to the house. It was growing up into the siding and all over the back deck, and I pulled about 30 feet of vine from under the house when I stared clearing it out. It had rooted in the crawlspace!

Thank you!! I am kind of leaning that way too after looking up trumpet vine foliage Id. I'm happy! lol I didn't think it made it... I will have to get it planted and see if it proves us right. Or wrong. ;)

I love Ivy. I have some banks I'd love to plant it on. But I don't think it could withstand the full sun.

Welcome to BYC by the way. :welcome
