Sweet Duck

My duck is 9 weeks old tomorrow and she is losing feathers like crazy. Is this normal? Her bill is really hot, but it has been really hot here too. Just wondering if anyone has any input. Thanks.

ducks grown in their adult feathers, and then they molt them out and they grow in again, mine have just started and there seems to be a feather carpet where they sleep!

I have 12 week olds here right now and they had their pillow fight about two weeks ago. Getting in the big duck feathers. My yard looks funny with feathers all over the place.

Yup, the Runners molted at about ten weeks.

So is this the eclipsing phase? When they molt do Mallards and Rouens develop their green heads?
