Hello all,

I am a new chicken owner with little to no experience caring for chickens (aside from feeding/collecting eggs/cleaning up coops), as I was given two Speckled Sussex chicks today. I didn't take a thorough look at them when receiving them, and noticed when I got home that one of the chicks had what look like scabs on its upper thigh and near it's butt. She seems to be moving around just fine, but I still am concerned.

Are these scabs or are they something worse? I hope it ain't too serious. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

Here are the two chicks.

As you can see, there are two different areas with scab-looking wounds. There aren't any signs of open wounds or bleeding.
