My neighbor's cat and dog went after a nest of newly hatched quail, and killed the parents and most of the chicks. She rescued two and called me to take them, since we have chickens. I have them in a brooder under a heat lamp with water and finely ground all purpose poultry food. It may be a few days before I can get game food, so what can I give them? They seem to be drinking and pecking at the food, and they are pooping. Help, and thank you!

Hard boiled chicken eggs are a great starter feed for quail. Better than the poultry feed, but it needs to be removed every few hours as it spoils quickly, so make small batches.
