Well I have had my Pekin ducks (6 of them) for several months now and they are doing great. They love hanging out in the yard and are actually doing a knock out job on some weeds I had in the grass.

But in their cage there are Flys that are pretty bad. I keep it clean and there isn't any poop sitting around. The ground of their pen is small gravel so I wash the poop and other stuff down through the gravel daily.

The ducks don't spend much time in the pen in the day since I give them free range all day and only lock them in at night.

Any idea how to get rid of these Flys? They get in my house and it's getting rather annoying

I bought these from Jeffers works great, just have to remember to change out water and add new bait in 30 days it will let you know by the smell.

I have the trap Miss Lydia shows and have never caught a fly with them.

Is it the pen or the cage that has all the flies?
If the pen, you can water it in a bit more or close the birds out of the pen once a week and clean with a mix of ammonia and dish soap - might help.
If the cage, you can close that up and hang fly tape to capture a bunch and maybe that will put a dent in the fly population.

There are a few fly things on the market, so give some a try and see what might work for you.

@TLWR do you have the bait? my goodness when i take them down at a month there are so many flies there is not any water left. and pretty stinky too.
 
We have a few flies as well, but not to the point of it being a problem. We have ducks! Not meaning to sound like a smarty pants; but we have a few that take great delight in standing very still and catching flies out of mid air! We have one duck, who especially likes the coop with double doors wide open, she stands in the middle and snags them as they fly around her. Its amazing really. Spouse also made a few of the fly catchers from old 32oz soda bottles. They work very well but I think they're meant more for bees and wasps than flies. But they do a good job with all pesky flying vermin.

Yep, we have the bait and not a single fly! They land on top of it, but quickly go elsewhere (back to under the coop where the poops has hosed down to)
Sticky tape things are pretty much the only thing we have luck with here.
 
It's their cage. Their house is fine.

I know that there are some Flys to be expected but I was just wondering if there was a way to cut down on some of them.

I will have to try those traps.

Something else that came to mind last night as I was thinking about this, to help keep the odor down and the creepy-crawley pests away, I sprinkle some food-grade DE (I'd attempt to spell it and will surely fail.) di·a·to·ma·ceous earth - thank you Google. And on top of that I spread fresh straw for their bedding. It's another one of those amazing products that I've come to appreciate it but do realize there are those with differing opinions. I haven't seen any bugs that come in contact with it, that last long enough to get away. And there are some out there who feed very small quantities to pets and animals. If there are negatives to it's use, I haven't found any. Just a thought.
 
The hardware store had some fly traps so I got 2 of them. So far I already caught some.

I will try to find some of what you mentioned and see if that helps. The pen doesn't really smell at all since I wash it everyday and they don't spend all that much time in there. They do a hood job at greening the grass too haha

I use DE in my feed can to keep the feed fresh and bug free.
