Hi everyone, Although we have had hens for many years, this year was the first year we raised day old's. It was a lot more fun & easier than we had imagined! We successfully raised them all, with no losses (which I hear is not common?) Anyhow... We thought we were getting all EE's but we got 3 light bramas... They are so different than anything we have had before and we cannot tell their sex, for sure. 1 we know is a roo... The other 2????? They are 11 weeks old, none of the crow (yet). They are
MUCH bigger than the EE's and their feathers are totally different. Thank you in advance for all your help.

There is another place to post these but I will answer too.

The cockerals faces turn red first. good hint
Second - Look at the feathers that form on the neck and near the tail
Cockerals get long skinny feathers in both places the ones near the tail tend to fall over the sides - It is the development of the saddle.
Just based on the feathers, I would say Coq au Vin recipe might be in order - don't name them - feed them some high protein diet and at 12 weeks about send them to freezer camp. You only need one rooster!
Sorry if it sounds harsh but really - roosters can get mean and nice ones are the exception.

Hahaha... my husband already named them but I will still cook them. I guess it is time to learn how to break them down... We actually do not want any roosters. We are allowed to have 1 where we live but the neighbors rooster is loud enough for all of us. We have some great local hatcheries here, so we have hens for eggs and when we want more babies, I only drive 15 minutes to get them.

Thank you so much... I guess I knew they were not hens, I just kept my hopes going. :)

They are both EE cockerels.

Edited to say Welcome to BYC.
I agree with @sourland definitely both as he said cockerels. Very cute ones at that!
