Hello all,
I have a 8yr old EE hen with a funny white bump on the inner folds of her comb. I have had her for two of the eight years of her life, and it has not grown any. It was there when I got her, but I dismissed it as something passing. Well, two years later, it is still the same. None of the other chickens have it. She is happy, active, and eating well.

I considered dry fowl pox, but it never cleared up and no other chickens got it. Thanks!

Well, it could be a skin tag (why not? Humans get them) or a calcium deposit?

Hi sweets, looks like an infection such as favus or pox. google chicken favus images and fowl pox sweets. I will do the same and bring some info back to you.

I don't think pox lines up, as this thing has been here for two years and has never, ever changed. It seems almost "sunken" into the comb. Is scar tissue possible? The pics of Favus do look similar, 'cept hers isn't raised.

Can you see the darkness beside the lump? That's a trench on the front of it. Not deep, just a tiny bit.
