New to me chicks/Rooster

Got these today. The rooster someone said could be a cross between a Barred Plymouth and a Barred Pencil.

Here are some of the chicks, several of the black with silver "sort of" stripes have the white spot on top of the head. Any idea if this is a good indicator of cockerel or pullet? There are 10 that are black that have the pretty silverish looking stripes 2 are very much not black at all. She said they are about 3 weeks old.

In the first pic, the "black & white" on on the left top is Cockerel, according to the comb, possibly the other one too. The rest look pullet but individual pics would help. Not sure on the Cock, I'm still learning my breeds :)
 
Rooster is most likely a mix... lots of barred breeds so hard to tell really...

Spots on heads won't tell anything if just the rooster is barred, both sexes can have headspots...

But top 2 on left are looking like cockerels, and also maybe the chipmunk striped one in 2nd pic...
