The duckling club

They are all from metzer! The welsh are feathering the most so far but everyone else seems to be just a few days behind. My cayuga is the teeniest one though. Wonder if she will end up the biggest! Lol

Hey, I was wondering about having ducklings in brooders. At what age should I should move my ducklings from the brooder to the coop? The coop has a sheltered nesting area and is fenced, but does not have a netted roof.
Thanks.

I moved mine out at 6 weeks but kept a heat lamp in their coop jusr in case. The girls, except my welsh have all figured out how to get into the coop at night. And now free roam moat of the day. Wedid put up a netted roof though i was nervous about predator birds. I think it mostly just depends on how cold it is where you are.

That wild duckling is soooo cute!!!

Here are my girls now, and one boy lol

My little ones hatched out August 20. I moved them outdoors after about a month. Reason? They out grew the dog crate I was using as a brooder. Now at almost eight weeks my biggest concern is keeping them isolated from my adolescent drakes who seem to want to mate with anything that's got a bill and feathers!
One of my ducklings has turned into a runner duck. I've named her "the Vicar of Dibley"
