Didnt check on birds all day yesterday as I was very busy. After work I saw one bird was limping. Her foot looked nasty and black. Then i saw the end of her middle toe was rounded over like a nub and bruised looking, no toenail. Lowzy pics but best I could do. Second bird with an injury. 2 out of 18. Well one has an eye defect. Seems a bit much if you ask me. Still dont know how it happened.

Caught raccoon. Ripping their toes through hardware cloth. Boarded up the bottom. No one else got here.

Treatment consisted of...isolation for 3 days.

Treatment 1 day 1 - chlorahexidine wipes, vinegar/water tinse
treatment 2 and 3 day 1 - clean and cover with corona ointment

treatment 1 day 2 - saline wash and cover with corona ointment
treatment 2 day 2 - reapply corona

Treatment 1 day 3 - saline and corona
treatment 2 day 3...escaped my hold and basically flew right into brooder. Returned to flock.

Treatment day 4 - left him be. Observation I guess. Wound is clean and dry. Still swollen.

Treatment day 5 - saline soak and neosporin. Repeat until healed. Will update as to when that is.

Forgot to update toe. Full recovery. Looks great. Works just fine. No problem perching, scratching or landing. Bird is happy as a clam.

I have a Guinea fowl with same toe. Can you please detail what I need to do?
