Well I finally did it. I went on to their website under advertised specials and ordered 30 Rare breed special assortment pullets. I did put in the notes that I would prefer to not get any game fowl or long tail breeds. I think they are gorgeous, but not really what I am looking for. Do hope there are some Lakenvelders and wish I had remembered to put in notes. Of course I will be happy as long as they are happy and healthy. Decided to order from Ideal because of cost and they are only 6 hours from me so they should not be long in transit. I will post pics of what I get since they will need to be identified. As well as post my experience. So excited. If they have any hatch day special I may add some more.

It is for tomorrow's hatch, so they should be here Thursday. Hoping they are here really early since I have an orthodontist appointment at 9:am. That or right after.

I am very happy. They hatched yesterday and were here by 8am. I was already on way to my orthodontist appt so my dad went and picked them up. He dipped their beaks and right away they were drinking and started scratching. They are eating well and even though we put a couple of inches of bedding down they have scratched so much that the floor is bare in spots. I was wondering about breeds til I looked at the invoice and they wrote them all out on there for me. There are black langshans, buff rock, partridge rock, welsummer and dominique. All are pullets and gorgeous. I was hoping for some stuff a little more exotic but they are gorgeous and will be gorgeous when they grow up. Another plus is that Ideal ships to my post office for free. That saves on costs. Ordered 30 and had them vaccinated. Came out to $64 and they sent us 32 so that is rare pullets at $2 a chick. Think I may order again.

I've always been happy with my orders from Ideal. Please post updated pics as they grow.

Ideal is about as good as hatcheries get. I ordered 30 sexed chicks from them November of 2014. 1 died during delivery and 1 turned out to be a cockerel, so I had to give him away to a farm. But the 28 that I kept were pretty nice. They were nicer than normal hatchery birds.

I also ordered from them and am very happy with the quality and breeds. I did order 2 white Cochin pullets but got one rooster other than that I will def order from them again. I will keep him as long as he's not nasty to me. So far so good but they r only 3 months old lol

They are doing great. I did lose one langshan, but all the rest are doing great.
