3 laying hens in need of re-homing (rehoming) - So.Calif

hi i am sorry about the late reply. so i used to do poultry rescue and i moved to Lake Elsinore from SD for a little more land. i have a small farm now with the last of my rescue birds. i recently quit rescue for a while simply because it made me so sad to see the state of some of the hens in this area but i may start up again some day when i have more energy and my positive out look back. right now i have a medium flock and i deal with the heat by spraying the ground down 3 times a day and i have a misting system. i also ferment my feed and do monthly health checks. while i was doing rescue i had to fix and heal a lot of injuries so i can heal bumble foot, gleet, parasites, prolapses, scaley legs, ect... and i have saved a few hens after dog attacks. i have fans and misters in yard and they free range on about 2 acres. ,

i am a stay at home mom so i am free all week if you would like me to come get them. just let me know. if you would like to see pictures of my ladies or my coop i could text some but my camera wont hook up to my lap top right now because i lost the cord. i have a mixed flock with everything form orps to silkies and i keep them very busy so there isnt any picking on the weak ones. they get weekly watermelon and they always have cabbages and lettuce on bungee cords to keep them busy lol. i worm every 6 months and dust for lice once a month if i see any but my flock is very healthy over all. i have a a few disabled birds and i dont cull ever! my oldest hen is 8 and she is one of my favorites. she is a super sweet brama who runs to the back door ever time it is opened and loves to be cuddled. i also have several sweet roos. they are all gentlemen and were kept because they are sweet with my hens and dont rip feathers or injure the disabled hens. most of my roos are bantams but i do have a barred rock named batman, and i raised him from a chick so he wass held alot. i farm meal worms so my ladies get a lot of protein and i use suplements when they are growing feathers back. i also have a goat i rescued and 2 rescue pigs (who were feral when i got them, but have trained very well) as well as 8 ducks. i live on a little over 4 acres and every one of my animals has there own space, but they all get along when they free range together.

Hi ForTheLoveofHen...

I left you a private message with my phone # so that you can text photos to me. It sounds like you have a great set up with your misters! I also offered to bring the ladies to you as we aren't that far apart. Check your private messages for more info from me.

Thanks! :)

Liz
