Crookneck/Wryneck

Update on Remi: I've been giving her eggs, romaine lettuce and doses of vitamin E and she definitely improved. She started eating almost as much as normal and having a lot less 'episodes'. She also stopped sleeping with her head tucked underneath herself, and I thought that we were almost out of the woods. However, today when I went to let the chickens out of the coop I noticed that she was laying awkwardly. I picked her up and put her outside but when I put her down on the ground she just fell over and rolled. She can't stand up and only walks backwards which is a problem she didn't have before. I have to hold her body up for her to eat now. Is this normal or a bad sign? I'm freaking out

Walking backwards or in circles is another symptom of wry neck. Hopefully, she will continue to make progress, but I hope this isn't a sign that she is getting worse. Wry neck is very frustrating, and not all chicks are cured of it. A lot depends on the cause.

from what i have read she needs vitamins ( poly vi sol ) most recommend the vitamin E and selenium both can be found at wal mart i was giving my little 1 week old chick just the vitamin and she started doing a little better now i have added the E and the selenium with the E which helps to absorb the E ..i hope your little one comes around

Second update: Thank you to everyone who told me what they know and how to help me. Unfortunately, she's not doing well and I have a feeling she won't make it through the night.
