If I live in a "Right to Farm" town can my neighborhood have rules against owning chickens?

Hey guys, I live in Middleboro, MA. From what I understand the town has a "right to farm" law, but I'm curious if my neighborhood would be allowed to ban poultry if that were the case. I haven't actually checked just yet, just want to beprepared for anything thrown at me when I look further into it.
 
it's best to check your city ordinances or call the code compliance department

each city will often have their own website

so look under ordinances or just call them

be sure to call the code compliance department.. better yet a code inspector if they have the name and direct phone number posted
 
Most subdivisions or developments have "Covenants" that band certain uses of the land. These rules are generally the responsibility of the residents of the development or a homeowners association to enforce. Generally you can only enforce the rules by suing the homeowner deemed in violation of the covenant. Judges hate these cases because there is always two sides who is upset over his ruling and it is never good politics for a judge to boast at the monthly Lions Club meeting about how he kicked a poor widow woman with too many felines out of her house.

I just quickly read the law and it appears to protect properly zoned commercial farms in proximity to urban areas from common complaints like noise, smell or dust etc... From my reading it's not forbidding a town or association from regulating farming activities under zoning laws or other ordinances if they fall outside the scope of the protected commercial farming...

The benefits and protections of this By-law are intended to apply exclusively to those commercial agricultural and farming operations and activities conducted in accordance with generally accepted agricultural practices.
