Orpington chicks growing up

Pics
Here are the girls at 11 weeks old. They are getting so big.

Miss Muffet (who wasn't being very photogenic).

And here are some updated photos of our Silkie chicks who are a week old now. I've been feeding them fermented chick starter as they weren't really eating it all that well as solid crumbles. It means their feathers get a bit messy and I have to give them fresh stuff many times a day but they seem to love it. The chick starter is a different brand to the one we usually use but the unmedicated stuff I like requires a trip across Auckland to go and buy it and we have all been very unwell with an awful cold/cough.

And our very adorable Silkie babies who are now 2 weeks old. Their wing feathers are growing and they all have cute little tails sprouting.

Thought it was time to do a bit of a catch up.

Here are the Silkies at 3 weeks old. They are a bit ugly at this age with their funny pin feathers coming through.

4 week old Silkie babies. Starting to suspect Rainbow is a boy as it stands differently, much more upright.

Nugget

6 week olds. We moved their cage onto the floor so it's a bit trickier to take photos of them. I started to worry that three of them were boys as I saw them get on their mothers back and act like they were mating. Two only did it once but Rainbow does it often which, again, makes me think it's a boy.
