Hatching
I've loved birds since I knew what a bird was, namely when I met an african gray parrot in a pet store when I was 5. It was love at first sight.
I turned 25 in January. Never have I had a bird of my own; until this past Sunday. I spent 2 hours each way on the bus with my mom to meet 2 parakeets (budgies) a yellow fenale and a blue male. Bought them both, and took them home. As it turns out, the female hates me; like really hates me. Broke out of her cage and attacked my face unprovoked. Unfortunately, she constantly attacked my boy, so they were separated and she now lives with my mom, who she seems to adore.
But, about my little boy... I named him Taquito after an inside joke between my sister and I. He is absolutely stunning, at least in my opinion. He has a huge cage meant for a macaw, tons of toys, and his favorite thing; millet.
This is mostly a show off post, but also me asking for help in taming him to step on hands and such. He's already cautiously eating from my hand.
If anyone kniws about their color mutations, I'd like opinions on that as well. To me, he looks like a pied opaline, but I could be wrong.
