I am new to guineas and have 16 Keets. They are about 4 weeks old now. I am having a hard time finding online if it's ok to feed them plant food trimmings, etc.... along with grit at this age? They are in my chicken house and I plan to let them free range in a few weeks. I'd like to start taking treats out to them now, and maybe ringing a bell or something beforehand to try to train them to come back into the coop at night. Thanks!

To give them treats, you have to also give them grit. Without the grit they cannot digest the treats. I give my new keets pieces of grass cut to approximately 1/4" length once they are at least a few days old.

If you plan to allow them to patrol your garden when older, do not feed them treats from the garden.
