Stationary Coop?

Has anyone had success raising meat birds in a stationary coop as opposed to a tractor? We're in the suburbs on a quarter acre lot. Our layers have a good chunk of the yard, and two small children have the rest! Can't do a tractor for meat birds due to space and not wanting the areas where the kids play to get poop covered. I've been trying to figure out how I could make it work to raise about 8 Cornish X in a stationary coop with an attached run. I don't mind at all scooping poop 2-3 times/day. Priorities are keeping stink down for neighbors (although they will be bribed with a processed chicken or two) and having reasonably happy chickens for the short time their little chicken feet walk this earth... Anyone do this on deep litter or sand or should I put the idea aside until hopefully someday we have a place in the country?

Elevate it with multiple floors? I did that with part of my run. Gives them shade or they can lay in the sun if they wish.
