I have a 3 month old Ancona female.

I noticed yesterday she has been hanging around the big ducks and leaving her others, she is DEFIANTLY the more social one of the 4.

I noticed that she will quack really loud, then almost run in circles around one of my drakes,it's almost like she is trying to impress him.She talks to him alot, and follows him but he shews her off. It's almost like a victory lap.

Why is she doing this?

She is flirting with him and saying come and see me big boy. I am already seeing this behavior with my females Runners and they are just 12 weeks old [little hussy's] all of them. lol

Wow,so I'm guessing they are more Impressive then the lil drake she grew up with.
Must be she likes them already mature.

As for future mates I'll just say she may favor him over any other drake and him her but they really don't take mates in the same since as say geese or other birds.

When I had more than 1 drake there were females that were hatched with him that tended to hang out with him but if given opportunity they would also mate with the other drakes and ducks too. Now I am back to having more than just one drake after 2 yrs we'll see how this plays out since I have 13 females to 5 drakes now [won't be keeping all my drakes they are still young ]
