Fisher Cat

No I did not. I even took my dog in the woods that has an amazing sniffer. So odd that this happened. I did not look up in the trees though hahahaha

"Have you ever used live mice?
Have you trapped mink? That is my biggest problem for the last few years."

No, have not used live mice. Wouldn't work well with running a trapline. Portability issues. I have trapped mink... a lot. Other than a few incidental catches in coon traps, all were within 10 feet of 'usually' running water. The bank hole set is the most common. Will usually catch more muskrat than mink, also coon. Dig a lateral, about 3" in diameter at the water line into the bank, 10" deep. Set a #1 coil with a drowning lock to deep water or a #11 (1 double longspring) cabled long enough to reach water at least 2' deep near the front lip of the hole, bedded solidly on packed sand or gravel. If water is not deep enough to drown, use a 110 or 120 connibear. Trap shy mink will often slink through a bodygrip. As with all weasels, bait the back of the hole with fresh, red meat and musk lure. Frogs and crayfish also work well for mink. Get them fresh, then mash up a little bit. There are many other methods to take mink, this is the most basic. I'd recommend a good all around trapping book. Most of them are pretty good, haven't changed much in 100 years.
