Late to the party, but it didn't look like you had gotten your question answered. Has to do with the genetics of the gene for the color blue. Daddy was red with green feathers, mom was pure white.

Forgot to mention that their are breeds that are "self-blue" like Blue Andalusians that breed true. I think it's a mutation on a different gene? Not sure.
No idea on your hatchling. I looked up the stuff about the blue genetics because most hatcheries that sell blue whatevers point out that you may end up with black. I have a black Cochin roo and he is a very pretty boy! He was sold as black though, so I doubt carries the blue gene.
