Anyone with any experience with overheating very young (few days old) chicks and their recovery? Im hoping if it rests and I get it to food and water, because it is so young it will get its sight back. If you have had any experience with this or related sight issue in baby chicks and their recovery, Id love to hear from you. Thanks.

I'm sorry you are having trouble.

I haven't come across this situation before, hopefully someone else may have better input.

Try to keep her hydrated, offer some Sav-A-Chick if you have it, if not some sugar water or poultry vitamins.
Also offer wet chick starter.

Hopefully the loss of sight is due to shock and she will recover.

Any idea how long she was trapped?

Let us know how she is doing.

Thank you for responding. She died. I dont think she was eating enough. I was not forcing food on her as I was just letting her rest and hoping she would get some sight back. She could have been trapped over night. Im just not sure. She and three others were put to bed under an elevated heating pad that allowed them to climb under for warmth or come out from under to adjust how much heat they needed. She somehow got inside between the cloth cover and pad and either couldnt come out or didnt want to. I didnt find her in the pad until the next morning.

I'm so sorry for your loss
