Broody hen still laying!?

Ok so the eggs were fertile but they only half developed!?! I've put 4 brought eggs under her now and her old eggs are well well over 21 days and she has begun kicking the old ones out, so I checked one with a torch and op bed it and it's half formed!!! I'm unsure what to do if these brought eggs don't hatch??? Worried she will be sitting in her box forever if nothing happens lol HELP!!!
Half formed means they stopped developing and died, that's why she kicking them out.
Have you checked the eggs still under her with a torch?

So she's been sitting for, what, 5 weeks now?!....all day and all night, all that time?

Giving her more fresh fertile eggs(at least I hope they are fertile) is really not a good thing to do if she's been sitting so long already.

As I understand it, when a hen goes broody, the hormonal change causes her temperature to rise to incubate eggs...I wonder if perhaps a hormonal imbalance caused her to start laying mid brood and also caused her temperature to drop a fraction and the eggs to stop developing as a result, even though she continued to set them.

I too would not give her any more eggs this time as being broody really takes it out of them.

She gets up every second day sometimes once a day to feed and drink... So do I just take all the eggs out and she will stop sitting? The older eggs are all dark so they will be the same was just waiting to see what you helpful people had to say
