At 3 months old they do not need 30% protein game bird feed. They do need a quality feed that is at least 16% protein. You may want to switch to a quality all flock feed. Chick starter that is 15% protein is not a quality feed for anything. Companies that sell such a feed have only their own profit line in mind and do not care what harm it does to your poultry.

My roosters get the same 16% protein layer pellets that my hens get. I live in an area that does not have lots of extra calcium naturally so the small amount of calcium in layer feed is not harmful to adult roosters.

The chick starter that I use is 23% protein.
