Hello,

We have a top bar hive and as of late we have noticed that the population has drastically decreased. We also have noticed a lot of earrings, and earwig eggs in the hive. The hive has no broods that we could notice. The queen is there and no drones were seen either. There is a lot of pollen stores but not much honey. Do ear wigs eat bees? Thank you so much and we look forward to hearing any suggestions you may have.

Have a great day!

I doubt they'd eat the bees, but they may be robbing the honey. Several options for earwig traps by doing a quick google search - Im not sure the one using soy sauce (the one I use in raised beds) would be safe to use in your hive. You could try using folded newspapers - again, a google search will give you instructions...
