White eye discharge

My silkie roo is healthy but I noticed he has white goo on his eye. Otherwise he is healthy. What should I do, I'm thinking his recent growth of cresT.

Can you post a photo?
Any swelling of the eye or surrounding tissue?

If you think his crown/crest is getting in the eyes then you may need to give it a trim.

Flush the eye with saline and use a qtip to get the goo out.

Let us know how he's doing.

I can try and gt a photo, I trimmed his crest and some of his cheek fluff was all hard so I'm thinking now thats it for sure, I will definitely let you know.

My chickens had the goop, tears, and bubbles. I figured secondary infection to dry fowl pox. Had a goat with eye infection once and vet said to put neosporin in her eyes. Yes, I know it states not for opthamologic use. Anyway a few days of it 2-3 times cleared eyes. FWIW for what it's worth...

a few of my chickens have this problem and usually die I have a polish right now has large white clumps coming out of the eye once I put water on eye to open it then large chunks come out any suggestions ? didn't have this problem til I ordered from cackle hatchery now I've dealt w three diff issues and this is one plz anything will help

yeah it's just very disappointing to lose birds when you take great care of them the yrs I've had chickens never needed any medicine and now seems like I've give every med in the book to these poor chickens it's been so devastating I might get rid of all 600 chickens and call it done if I can't get them healthy I don't know well see how it goes good luck with your issue to hope you can do damage control :(

I have begun to believe that hatchery chickens just are not bred for health and long life. Now I have a 9 month old roo EE who suddenly cannot walk. No injury. Shuns water but eats some on his own so far. Had similar illness in hen months ago. Lots of care. Eventually died. Please help if you have any ideas...
