Dying chickens

So sorry for your loss.

I hope you don't lose any more hens. If they were mine, I would treat them with VetRx. It is an old time remedy for respiratory issues. I have used it and been very happy with the results. It contains Oils of Oregano and Rosemary that are known to be anti-bacteria, anti-viral and anti-fungal, I believe. This is not something most vets will recommend as it is considered a natural remedy. However, many of the remedies used before the the introduction of today's pharmaceuticals are starting to gain popularity again. Look at Perdue's new commercials about the herbs they are now using to help keep their birds healthy instead of using antibiotics - oregano and rosemary are among them. It is worth a try, IMHO.

Aw man, Terry. I'm so sorry about Shirley. I was really hoping all the others were going to escape any consequences.

Maybe the Dr. can suggest some supportive measures to help the remaining ones' systems to beat the effects of the fungus before it gets a foothold.

At least you have gotten it out of the environment, so there is still a little bit of hope. Hugs to you and Cheryl, and your mother.

Thank you. I will discuss all options with Dr. Clark when he comes.

Thanks Finnie. It's been a tough deal for all of us. I will admit that it has affected me more than Cheryl or Mom. We'll be fine.

Came home to find Ethyl unable to walk and laying in her own poop. No choice but to euthanize her. Praying that this is the end of this mess and the remaining 4 will stay healthy.

On a much brighter note there were 2 eggs today so somebody else is laying.
