So is it the larger comb and the redness in the comb that is the indicator? I ask because I don't want to give away any girls but I hate to hold onto boys for 3 or 4 months and then let them go.

Yep 3 cockerels. You don't have to hold them for months. by 6-8 weeks you should be pretty certain and also see if any more join the ranks of males.

Post again in another 3 weeks with new photos and see how decisions go then

Pretty much, I'd say! Pullets don't start pinking up or developing until much, much later than 3 weeks. I agree with drumstick diva, you only have to wait a few weeks longer just to be 100% sure you aren't giving away pullets.
