I have 6 eggs in the incubator, 2 ducks on day 28 and 4 lavender orpingtons on day 20. The suspense is killing me! No external pips yet, but it's my 2nd duck hatch and I know they are slow and its not time yet for the chickens.

Who is waiting with me? What day are you on? :D

Hello! Yes, waiting is the worst when you just want to see those adorable little faces! I am also waiting with you, 5 in the Bator are due to hatch over the next two days. One has hatched today (day 19) the others I can hear are pecking away and quietly chirping.

20 eggs are under my broody Turkey, Although they are not ready to hatch for another 2 weeks its still exciting!

Keep us updated!

Well Im down an egg. I candled for internal pips (yes I know, and I'm the first person to tell you NOT to do this), but glad I did because one egg had liquified since lockdown (I'm sure it was dead prior but it's hard to tell with brown eggs). I opened the air cell to confirm and it was just mush inside a sealed membrane with no veins whatsoever.

So, 2 campbells on end of day 28 and 3 lavender orpingtons on end of day 20. I can see the beak opening and closing on one duck (so, internal pip I suppose) and the rest all have movement but no taps or noise whatsoever. Trying to sit on my hands...

Haha don't worry, on the one that has hatched I candled for Internal Pips too. Yes, please do sit on your hands, At this point everyone is tempted to open up the egg and help it out. But please don't, Just wait a little longer ;) Ya see, the best method for me when I want to hatch chicks is broodys. Just put a bunch of eggs under her and then let her do the rest and wait for chicks. That way, you wont be tempted to open them on hatch day! :D

This is my 2nd hatch - the last round was just ducks and I had to help them out on day 30 and 31. Variety of issues Im chalking up to shipped eggs, but of course I set shipped eggs again. Sigh. You'd think at least 1 of the 5 would have an external pip by now but I know its still early.

Oh well, we'll see what happens. You might have a few surprises for you in the morning! Another chick has hatched for me (They are our Own eggs..don't usually do shipped eggs due to the problems I have seen. Id rather just purchase day old chicks..) Bare in mind I’ve had horrible incubation seasons, my last two ones went down hill and I had no hatches. So “We shall try and try again till’ we succeed” Remember that :) Best of luck!

This morning has not gone well - one duck that was alive yesterday died, and the last egg is facing away from the air sac (I posted a separate thread for help with that).

Fingers crossed for the chickens today - day 21. No external pips or peeps or rocking. Not sure this will go well. :(

3 chickens on late afternoon on day 22 now - 2 are peeing away and the 3rd is quiet but has movement. Waiting is hard!
