please help identify this goose

I found this goose 5 years ago in the middle of a busy intersection in the middle of the night. I've kept her since. now she is sick. I want to know her breed so it may help with any diagnosis and prognosis for her.

Maybe Toulouse @amaugans What are her symptoms?

I was thinking a toulouse too! but wasn't sure with her white eye ring..

she is at least 7 years old. still lays. only in the winter though. she can't walk and moves her head around like she is drunk. all started 3 days ago. and getting worse. she is very quiet. and I don't know if she can see. prior to 3 days ago she was totally normal.
I have her at the vet now. they are thinking cancer or parasite or metal toxicity right now. we are going to get some blood soon and send it out ( I'm a vet tech so she is at work with me)

any ideas or previous experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I have no experience with this, Great you can get blood work done best way to find out what is going on. Could she have gotten into toxins plant, animal, chemical? Hopefully not hardware disease. Please let us know..

blood chemistry shows organ function is all normal. complete blood count revealed elevated white blood cell count. oral and injectable antibiotics have been started.
she has a mass on her right food that I failed to mention earlier. we were concerned this may be cancer and may have metastasized to the brain.
x-rays are attached. the radiologist did not feel the bones were affected by anything cancerous although the toe is broken/luxated and will later need surgery. the radiologist did however read out as metal in the abdomen( ventriculus)
I am excited to hear this! metal toxicity. we have alreasy started chelation to treat the toxicity. the lead and zinc blood test won't be back for almost a week I am afraid. but since her kidneys and liver are functioning well then there is no harm in chelation. Dr. expects her to improve within the next 24-48 hours. once she is better we will go to surgery to remove the to/ mass.[/IMG]

How awesome to be able to get her started on chelation so quick .I hope you see fast results and get that toe operated on and she gets back to a healthy goose again. She still has alot of years left with you. Thanks so much for sharing and updating. Let us know how she is doing today. Metal is always my biggest worry with my geese and ducks I find screws that have washed up after a heavy rain I had no idea where there. So far none have gotten sick.

she is worse today. she has started to have seizures this morning. has already had 2 chelation treatments. Dr. is concerned- she feels that she should be doing better not worse... I feel like I may have to make a tough decision for her....Dr. is recommending euthanasia. I feel terrible. I was so hopeful last night.

Can you give her another 24 hrs just to see if worse starts getting better. I know it's so hard to make that decision and I surely am not a vet. I am so sorry your put in this situation, I believe you'll make the right decision for her though.

She is very beautiful, and so kind of you to take her in when you found her
Its even better that you are a vet tech
