The Diary Of An Addicted Hatcher-Peepers,Quackers, And Gobblers.

Aw, a week old today and they are already very grown up! Little fuzz butts are eyeing the brooder wall...maybe its time for another field trip!. But sorry fuzzbutts, your not escaping just yet..you got a few more weeks in the brooder!

Will update soon.. When the duckies come..(Day of arrival for the ducklings was delayed due to business so its been moved to Friday! Little quackers will be here soon!)

I fell behind in this diary...


All 3 chicks ended up being cockerels.

Sprinkles ended up being more cripple like than anything...she was a beautiful little creature RIP...she passed away in 2016, but it was for the best because she was pretty much scooting on her ummy during the end. I do miss her. (Yeah..it was a boy, but she acted more hen like so yeah..)

And Hope and Bambi have new names....Rofl and Ceaser. They are growing up to be gorgeous and i love them to pieces.

Rofl (Initially Bambi) is taking the genes of our lovely silver hamburg who sadly passed away not too long ago..Rofl is a rascal and is more than happy to get into the pekin batams and silkie coop to practice on the girls...

I will say he drives me mad. He probably deserves the crockpot. Hes even ran up to me and attacked me once. But its that young adolescence stage that hes going through, you know....like a teenage boy stage. Thats the only reason that keeps him alive If he were an older rooster, say 5 or 6 years old, it may of been a different story.

Rofl seemingly has finished growing, he has a lovely silver hamburg body, and has been seen with purple on his comb, so, that brings me closer to the conclusion that he may very well be a silver hamburg.

Ceaser (Formally Hope) is more shy, and more of a back at the crowd kinda guy....hes actually very gentle. Whilst Rofl attacks the silkie cockerel, Ceaser will be standing next to his brother, just watching..

Never has he even thought about attacking any of the other birds, he not wimpy, but surely knows his place, whereas Rofl wants to be the top bird...but never will be...(Sorry ROFL)

Ceaser has not gone through that stage of attacking 'all humans as a young teenage bird' but honestly i dont think he will, he wouldn't dare to do that one me anyway, because i was really close to him when he was little, Ceaser was my litttle sidekick as a chick! He really respects me, and although hes not nearly as pretty as Rofl, i think hes a bit more prettier than Rofl on the inside. But dont say anything about that! Rofl will be upset ' Ceaser has taken the gene of one of our bigger roosters, so he has alot of growing to do...

Equally i love them alot....and im pretty proud of them.
