That looks pretty slick......simplest I've seen.

Yep me too!

I am going to buy the largest paint trays I can find and build the box to fit, with 10 birds MAX I think 2 will be enough from what I have seen others post, maybe 3.....
nice, if it's all custom anyways it would really make sense to make them just the right size for the trays. It's gonna look so good.

I keep evolving on this, now I have decided it will be an open air coop, walls on 3 sides wide open to the run. The plan is to tarp up the sides of the run with clear shower curtains in the worst of the winter to keep the snow out. So now its bigger, less construction and hopefully happy productive birds. I live in the mountains in Southern California where it snows in the winter, can be very warm in the summer. Nighttime winter temps rarely get into the teens, once in the last 15 years it got down to 9 degrees.

Sounds like a good plan, having the open air will allow you to make it much easier to keep the ventilation up in all sorts of weather. Here in Alberta we have similar weather, anywhere from +35 Celsius to -40 Celsius is a big stretch to cover your bases. Knock on wood it all works out. It's supposed to be a awfully long cold winter according to the farmers almanac so preparation is key in making it through with flying colors.
