Yes it's very expensive here can't be leave what they rent homes for here.
We have break water rocks I guess it the ocean waves get high it hits the rocks first to calm the water people build close to the ocean they won't get flooded.I love the weather marine layer comes in sometimes we don't see the sun for days .
I raised chickens when I lived in Idaho and northern calif but living in the city now lots of restrictions I think I'm going to raise a few here hope the neighbors won't mind hope I can keep them quiet in the city we can have 8 chickens with a permit think it is about 20.00 for permit a year it is a new thing that there trying since lots of people what to raise chickens nice to be chatting with you

I live in Michigans Lower Peninsula, close to our state capital wich sadly is not near any of the Great Lakes. I have been to all 5 of them though. I too love dark like stormy weather. I have 7 chickens that I got from my uncle 6 hens and 1 rooster
 
Do you live in the country or city in Michigan can you have more then 8 chickens there? it sounds like a nice place where you live.
 
Thank you wow Placerville ca great place traveled through there many times lots of trees I would say gods country not to far to Sacramento have you been to Roseville flee market I used to go on weekends lots of chickens rabbits pigeons for sale there.I moved away many years ago but love that area.

I've heard about it a few times. Been meaning to go but it's so hard to find the time, lol!

Yes a great place with same hobby love building incubators and raising chickens I have incubated quail duck and chickens very excited the last few days when they peek through the shell lots of fun the learning center is great place all ways learning something new
