What to do for sickly batch of chicks??

picked up 8 chicks last night. A few seemed quite sluggish. 1 Wyandotte had awful poppy butt that I carefully softened with a damp cloth and removed but that chick passed away then a couple hours later I found the other Wyandotte had passed as well. My last one is a bit sluggish and I'm very worried. My Sultan looked awful this morning and had very cloudy watery eyes but she looks to be much better than this morning.

They have medicated chick starter and I rinse out the water 3x a day.
What can I do for the remaining 6???

How old are these chicks? What are you using to keep them warm? Pics of your setup may help.

They were all tiny I was told they arrived on Friday and I picked up last night so should have been 5 days old I think a couple are older.

They are in a wire cage lined with mesh and cardboard over the mesh on one side. Using a heat lamp. Temps have been perfect. I don't have a photo at the moment can take one in the am.

I have the chicks from my first batch closed off in a part of my coop as the brooder and was told to put these right with them but too big of a size difference for my comfort my others are all almost fully feathered and going outside in nice days now so I set up the cage for these ones in the center of the bigger area of my larger chicks.

I'm happy to hear you're brooding chicks outdoors! Chicks are so much better off.

However, with such a basket of cases, you might be better off keeping the chicks indoors where it's more convenient to monitor their progress until you stabilize them.

I also recommend using a heating pad system instead of the heat lamp. it's more natural and reassuring to very tiny chicks as it simulates a broody hen. The details are on this forum over at Blooies' thread on Mama Heating Pad.

Then I would get a bottle of Poultry Nutri-drench and give each chick a drop on the side of their beak and then make a "weak tea" out of some in the drinking water, tepid not cold, you provide for the chicks.

Boiled, minced egg is another great way to get the perfect food down chicks that have wobbly health. Crumbled tofu is another way to get life into chicks that are having a rough start. I sprinkle some Nuti-drench over the food, too. The Nutri-drench is superior to Poly-vi-sol baby vitamins. And for good measure, get some Save-a-chick pro-biotics and mix with their food.

Pictures? How warm is the warm zone under the lamp? How cool is the coolest part? Do they have enough room? Lethargic, weak chicks are usually chilled or overheated chicks.
