Hello, all. I have been extremely ill with an auto-immune flare all year-- way too sick to go outside. I am really missing my geese right now, so I thought, why not start a thread especially for goose stories?

So let's tell stories! Funny, sad, bizarre, rescue stories, anything goes! And post pictures! I love goose pictures! I'll start.

This is The Professor. He is a year and a half. I hand raised him, so he is very, very loving and protective! Behind him is Matilda. I got her as an adult, so she's still warming up to me.

I have very bad allergies, and sneeze frequently. This spring, the geese noticed. Now, every time I sneeze, Matilda cries "honk honk honk!" and The Professor goes "SCREEEECH!!" The neighbor's must think we're crazy.

I love their names.

I have 1 Toulouse female named Missy she is such a sweet heart. She is 4 yrs old I got her at 4 months.
Then I have my gander Sam who is an Embden he is 9 yrs old was hatched here by a Muscovy duck.

Sam always has to make screeching noise when I sneeze or cough Missy will join in some of the time. Once in dead of winter with all the windows closed I sneezed and Sam all the way over on the other side of the house inside his house heard me and hollered. You can't get away with anything around here just ask the ducks, if they start to mate Sam and Missy stand over them and scream in their ears till they stop. They don't like any goings on here unless it's them.

It's contagious so be careful or you'll be over run with birds. lol

Lol, yeah. I got four ducklings for my birthday April 2015, and now we have 8 ducks, two geese, and 7 chickens! Plus the six goats, nine cats and one dog we already had.... It's pretty chaotic around here.

I bet it's alot of fun though, I enjoy my animals so much. Your pics are great too. beautiful animals. Kitty likes to roost high doesn't it. lol

Yup, he sure does. He also likes to prank the birds: he hides in the bushes, and when a chicken/duck/goose comes by, he sprints out and smacks it on the bottom! He usually gets bitten if he goes for a goose. Kinda deserves it, darn cat.

Today I felt good enough to sit outside for ten minutes or so with my birds. :) I took the opportunity of taking some more up-to-date photos. Matilda is much harder to photograph; she is exceedingly suspicious and won't come near the iPad!
