I'm driving myself crazy waiting for them to lay... they are almost 17wks. How long do I have to wait?!

Just 17 weeks?
Way, way to early to be getting impatient.
Most birds don't start until 18-24 weeks old.
Are they squatting yet?
Looking at the pale combs on those birds (except the brown one) you are at least 2-4 weeks from seeing eggs. The brown one is closer than the others,

20-25 weeks is a good average age, with exception of the high production breeds like Leghorns and Sexlinks.

I have the same question about my bantam pullet: when will she lay?
I have no idea how old she is, but she must be older than 4 months and younger than 6 months. She is not squatting yet, but a week ago the gap between pelvic bones was 1.5 fingertips, but now it is already 2. And yesterday she spent several hours inside nesting box, which she had never done before. But still no eggs. Anyway, the point of lay must be near, right?

Chickens can take between 18 to 20 weeks to lay. My chickens started exactly when the twentieth week started. You just need to be patient!

She's getting close. Bantam mature much faster than large breeds so she's about there.

There comb will start to grow rapidly and turn bright red a week or so before they start to lay. My Easter eggs took 6 months to start laying. I know it's hard but be patient:)

Today my bantam pullet laid her first egg:)
I was so exited, although I have 3 older hens who are laying daily for more than year.

That's her, she is about 900 grams and is very good flyer.

And the egg (on the left), it is 30 grams; on the right is the average egg I get, about 70 grams:

Still waiting for eggs...20 weeks... I know the days are getting shorter so it might take longer but she's been squatting for me the last week or more and is really singing loud so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll find an egg soon
