Hi,
Is there any way of being able to tell a male and a female at 5 weeks old. One of them is quacking and the other is still chirping. One is more temperamental (I have named that one after my teenage daughter) and is smaller than the other. They are from the same mum and dad and I have been told you can't let them have ducklings.

Quacking is definitely girl. What kind of ducks? 5 weeks is a little to tell but if the other one is chirping a lot, it could very well be a girl as well. Girls are always more vocal. Drake feathers don't usually start to appear until 12 weeks. Here's a link to help with their voices.
