C) I promise that there will be no swearing, cursing (including censoring by using symbols) or inappropriate adult sexual activity or innuendo. This extends to mating, breeding or innuendo in non-human characters as well.
D) I promise to treat others with respect and kindness as is the BYC way.
E) I promise not to post any material that is a violation of copyright. Basically this means: if you didn't create the content (like an image / picture) and don't have direct permission from the content creator to post it, then don't.
Limited is a word used by most humans. Either as an excuse, when one doesn't want to believe that an insurmountable obstacle can be overcome, or not willing to commit oneself to the task until the desired outcome is achieved. There was one man, Ryker Lord, who was a visionary and so overcame what was thought to be impossible. But mind you, not in the hope of making the world a better place, but motivated solely by greed. He took select children from across the world by force and hid them for secret experimentation. After years of this, his actions were discovered by a governmental organization, and stopped.
Though they failed to catch Ryker, they did manage to rescue the surviving children. To say those children were damaged, was a kind assessment. Although the experiments failed to produce the results that Ryker had hoped for, the children were so greatly altered by their genetic engineering, that the government refused to let the children return home to their families. Fearfully knowing that they could not be released back into regular society. If the world ever saw what they had truly become, everything would become utter chaos. After all, the fear of many would cause them to retaliate with violence. Which would result in the death of many innocent people.
So the government's top generals elected to destroy the children, to avoid a future incident and divert disaster. But it was the voice of one, whose name is Ioan, who had both the power and conviction to the contrary, that won out over the eminent slaughter of the innocent children. In fact, they were given a second chance through a secret school. Genesis High, it was called honoring the belief that here each student could begin a new life. This school was created for their special needs alone, where they were kept concealed, never leaving the safety of the building’s stone wall.
They wanted to believe it would protect them from the world. But as rumors quickly began to spread that Ryker would return, this time with a successful army of super soldiers. They knew it was inevitable that their sense of security would soon be shattered. Unlike Ryker’s first failed attempts which could only transform into animals whenever they wished, these new children possess the greatest strengths from an individual animal, along with that animal's most unique features, whether they were wings for flight, a cunning sense of smell or eyes for precision sight, which could see far beyond what was humanly possible. They even possess something else, a savageness that is far superior to their human counterparts.
Armed with his now perfect soldiers, Ryker plans to use these children to take over the world. There is only one hope for humanity and it comes in the form of the children who were forged in Ryker’s earlier experiments. Are the lost children of Genesis High ready to rise up from their hurt and face their tormentor? Can they emerge from their isolation and become the heroes our world will not yet admit that we need? It's only by their differences that our hope survives. But the true question is, can we?
