Child At Heart, Monster By Nature (A Shape Shifting RP)

( True, but what you edited it to makes a good deal more sense ;) )

“Perspective is everything,” Priam said solemnly. “Sometimes all we need is someone to shift ours, and sense falls in line.” He left her last statement unanswered, answering somewhat in his head, rather than aloud. He stared, unseeing, at their joined hands, which he wasn’t entirely aware were still joined. “I’m sorry, about your mother,” he said, the realization of what Irene had said about her mum hitting him a little late. “Have you heard nothing about them since you were brought here?”

“That is up to the recipient to decide,” Allen said, wriggling his eyebrows playfully. Of course he had intended it as a promise, but maybe a threat would have served better? “Wow—after all that, I get demoted from lion to tomcat?” He asked jokingly as he fell in step beside her.

Haley went around to the trunk to see if he needed any help carrying things. “Sorry to ruin your movie-quote moment, but no, I haven’t seen that,” she said, shrugging lightly. “I’ve never been one for movies of any kind.”
(Lol! )
Irene slowly shook her head. "No, which is perhaps for the best. If the news was unfavorable, I'd probably try to escape." She admitted softly.

"I could go back to Hairspray. That's a crowd pleaser. A crowd of one, me if you missed your guess." Ashton said quite proud of herself.

Dyrus laughed at that. "Trust me, you're not missing anything and that's a good thing. " He said as he shut the truck. "Besides, they say TV rots the brain and I like your gray matter just the way it is. you're sharp as a tack and clever beyond compare. You kept me on my toes out there on the hunt." He said as he started for the main door to the house.

“I think most everyone here has considered, if not tried, to. I don’t think anyone’s made it,” Priam said, not to discourage her, but simply stating the facts. But she wasn’t just anyone. Maybe she’d make it if it came to that. Not wanting to make her uncomfortable, he pulled back and straightened slightly. “But on to other subjects, if you’d rather.”

“First of all, I don’t think a crowd can be just one person,” Allen said, trying to keep from laughing, which he knew would only encourage her. “Secondly, I don’t even use hairspray! Hair gel, if you must know, but spray is just too hard to manipulate into these fine locks.”

“Oh you’re too kind,” Haley said, chuckling softly. “I’d had a lot of time and energy to think through that; if I did it again, I can’t guarantee the same results — I mean, not that I would, because I’m going nowhere now that I am, happily, quite caught.” Smirking, she winked at him before moving ahead to get the door.

(I was just wondering whether I should bump them :) )

The receptionist adjusted her glasses (because it’s a widely-known fact that all receptionists have glasses) so she could see the visitors better. She studied them in the camera for a moment as she considered his words. “Well, if Ioan’s expecting them,” she muttered as she pressed the button that unlocked the doors. “Come in,” she said with obviously forced enthusiasm. Word of Dimitri’s attack had made the rounds by now, and she was uncharacteristicly tense.

“Are you holding up okay?” Emily asked, concerned for his mental state as much as Dimitri’s. “This certainly isn’t any easy job, and you’ve been at it a good deal longer than the rest of us.”
Asa spoke boldly at the woman as the doors opened, knowing her decision was forced but that there was nothing she could do to stop them from coming in. "If you don't mind, I would like to speak with the man in charge." He smiled again, becoming more enthusiastic at how well his plan was going thus far.

"I appreciate your concern, but it doesn't make a difference if I am, I can't give up at this point." Ioan smiled genuinely to encourage the woman, he hadn't meant to upset her.

Cyra's eyebrows arched playfully with the realization of how she had set herself up. "I'll watch him, but I won't flirt with him." She stated firmly, meeting his gaze with a teasing expression. "I prefer tigers." Her smile broadened at her confession.

Amaryllis quieted for a minute, she really had to think of how to answer since it seemed so long ago when she first came here that it was hard to remember. "Carefree; when he was young he adored his father, he looked up to him and did everything just like him. When you're young you understand everything to be good, you lose that perspective as you grow older, but Anuerin changed too quickly. He realized what his father was doing, how he was hurting people, and his selfishness. Realizing that the man he loved, and thought to be perfect, didn't love him in return, shattered his world. His heart was hardened. He shut out the world with all its pain, and anyone who might betray his trust. I was able to reach him before then, I was still happy, I had been protected from everything that had hurt him. But he still shut me out sometimes, because I reminded him of how easy life is before you lose your innocence. A realistic prespective of life is a burden, especially for someone who lost their childhood." She concluded with a thoughtful sigh. It was something she hadn't thought about, but as she spoke it all made sense.
(Did you see this Nicky? It got mixed up with some old posts.)
