@PeepersMama I still had a couple things I wanted to say regarding your cousin, if you don't mind....
I didn't realize there was an age difference between you! For some reason I thought you were a lot closer than that. So I can see how it might be a challenge to find common things to do, but I will continue to brain storm anyways.
Oh ya, I was thinking maybe an amusement park trip where each member of your youth group gets to invite a (unsaved) friend. Maybe a packed lunch and a couple of short devotion type learning sessions... I love roller coasters!
And a couple of verses to support your parents not wanting you to take on Tors' characteristics... And I don't mean to call her a fool, so please don't take it that way.
Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.
Proverbs 10:23 Doing wrong is fun for a fool, but living wisely brings pleasure to the sensible.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
However, it doesn't say ignore them or forget about them....
2 Timothy 2:24-26 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
Mathew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
James 5:15-16 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
So, keep praying!
Also, I can't carry a tune in a bucket but I will gladly sing at the top of my voice (Not soprano) with you if I know the words!
And I do know a few of the old school songs you probably don't mind enjoying.
One more thing, I am sorry for the loss of the chickens you had.
I do believe loss serves purpose, aside from redirecting our attention to God... I think loosing pets when you are young help us learn how to cope with much greater loss of our loved ones later in life. And thank you for sharing with me.
ETA: Thanks for being concerned when it took me a while to reply. It just takes time to gather my thought and do a little research sometimes. Plus life happens. And then I have to leave my browser open so I don't lose what I already typed. So it makes it look like I'm stalking the thread and stewing about something.
That's not the case though, I'm just slow. And sometimes respond to other things faster that takes less processing in my brain.
