Can you please tell me what your understanding of these verses imply?Jesus Prophesy study #7 "Be a firstborn son, sanctified"
Old Testament :
Exodus 13 NASB
2 “Sanctify to Me every firstborn, the first offspring of every womb among the sons of Israel, both of man and beast; it belongs to Me.”
Numbers 3 NASB
13 For all the firstborn are Mine; on the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, from man to beast. They shall be Mine; I am the Lord.”
Numbers 8 NASB
17 For every firstborn among the sons of Israel is Mine, among the men and among the animals; on the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for Myself.
New Testament :
Luke 2 NASB
7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”),
Now thats not fair. I was saying that is what schools teach, and of course they dont teach us about the sons of Noah, because he didnt exist and blah blah. If you didnt get that from the context of my post then I'm sorry.@Bills vs Beaks
said in a post that he believed in evolution, now he/she is saying that "I was making a joke"
I personally like to read a lot and when I find that a writer has lied to me I stop reading any of their books! All of "Bills vs Beaks" postings fall into that category. Not enough time left in my life to sift through all the &#%^@$#

I apologize, my family was torn apart at Christmas time and I have a short fuse at this time of year. I am still working on forgiveness of my son's ex-wife
Quote:
God "owns" the first born sons of everything
Sanctify or sanctification is to make Holy or the process of becoming Holy
The Messiah was to be a first born son
If the family did not want to give God the first born then it could be redeemed, I forget what the price was, Mary and Joseph went to the Temple after Jesus' birth, the redemption price was not paid therefore God still "owned" Jesus.
Would someone besides me look up the verses that speak of Mary and Joseph's first visit to the Temple with baby Jesus
Would someone else try and find out the price of redemption and when that was suppose to be paid and if there was a difference in price if the family was poor which would be a sign of Jesus low status.
I accept your apology. I am sorry about your family.
Can we move on?
