Hello everyone! If you could please help me ID the sex of these geese! I think the white emden may be a gander and the African may be a gander? There is a white Chinese crested I think may be a female and the white African mix may be a female? I don't know?? The African one is aggressive. And the emden always stays way behind the others. The mixed African one is also aggressive. The white Chinese one is very sweet. Any ideas please give them! There are 4 geese total and I did post a couple pics in the thread! Thanks!!!

Good evening! They were all born April 19th/20th. So almost 6 months old. I'm pretty sure the African is a gander . He's pretty aggressive and vocal. he likes to protect the other one hisses a lot. The Emden one hangs out by himself about 4 feet away from everybody. He has a different honk than everybody but doesn't seem as aggressive as the African . I'm not sure I'm still new to all this! Any help is appreciated ! Thank you !

as goslings grow up, the ganders are usually the first to approach. Females will always be cautious. When they get older, try holding them. Females are more likely to accept being confined, and will lightly nibble clothes. Ganders will try hard to escape, and try to bite their way out. You will also notice that the females will get their honks first, and their voices get really low. ganders will shrill, but the females will moo, or even oink.

Female african and chinese geese make a "goink" sound while the ganders calls are longer, louder, and more trumpet like. The "embden" has too much gray in it's wing to be an embden. Young hens often have a few gray feather but nothing like that. Looks more like a pilgrim gander. But if it is very timid and holding back it is more likely to be a hen.
