Sounds like your temp may have been a hair too high. I wouldn't open the 'bator now, you'd risk losing moisture they need to get out of the shells. You don't want stuck chicks. I think 64% ok, for the hatch. Some people go higher.

Good luck, I know exactly how you feel! And I hope you get some rest!

One hyg/therm. says 60%/100.8 now, the other 50%/99.4. I figure the ave. hum is 55%.

One chick is sitting all fluffy in the bator, neither of the pips (one partial zip) has progressed in the past 4.5 hours. No other pips. I'm getting this sinking feeling. temps have been this way the entire incubation.

When I candled at day 18.5 all of them looked good. Day 20 begins at 8:00AM.

Do I intervene for the two pipped eggs?

Of the 5 chicks I just hatched, 3 came on day 20 and 2 on day 21. They were about 8-10 hours apart. I doubt if they all hatch at one time. Some are early, some late, just like all babies.

Now mahonri,, I have seen your name all over this site.. You know from your reading that you do not intervene..

when this hatch is complete and you have time to take a breath, I want you to calibrate those hygrometers.. taking the average from two hygrometers that are not reading correctly does not give you a true average......same with thermometers...

as far as the zipping goes,,, I just had a goose egg pip on Saturday night.. in the mean time one other goose and 7 ducks pipped, zipped and hatched.. this first one to pip finally hatched on TUESDAY, noon..

If I would have intervened, it would now be dead.. My wife kept saying, it died.. I kept saying, be patient..

not all eggs will hatch at the same time... some might take 3 days longer.. all you can do at this point is wait........

many people use the tilt method for the hova and LG without problems. If I had spikes that high, I would look for the real reason.. for starters, I would turn the thermostat down..
