My birds are molting now, so we're lucky to get 1 or 2 eggs every few days. So, today I notice that there's a hen in the nest box and the rooster isn't to be seen. I soon learned that he was in the nest box with the hen. What a goof! She didn't seem bothered. Has anyone seen this behavior before? I don't know that I would be able to do anything about it, as I'm at work during the day and only noticed it because I'm off this morning. Just curious.

I will often find younger roosters goofing around in the nestboxes trying to show the hens where to lay, I have been startled a time or two by wondering what chicken is that in my boxes, only to realize it's a rooster. I haven't seen any older roosters do it.
