Granny's gone and done it again

The schools around me don’t start til 6mos, same for duck dogs.
There's probably a good reason for that... like they are still puppies! :) I think you are doing a great job training her. If she is doing this good so young, she will be even better as an adult.

Did she get another ? I mean, why the worry now ?

No, I just need to work with her more but she’s pretty rough and bitey. She’s still riding Jewel around the house by the ears or neck, and when I use my hand for signals she chews me up. It’s not bad behavior necessarily, but she’s over 30lbs so she has some oomph behind the nibbles and pounces. And I got discouraged because if I’m trying to correct her she gets all dumb and floppy and excited, and all DH has to do is just say her name one time and she goes her her bed and lays down and won’t move until he says something else to her. He literally has never done anything except let her out if I’m not home.

I always thought the younger the better . I have read that by 4 months a lot of what they have learned is set in them. It might of been the social part though. :idunno

He does not love her the same way you do and she knows it. My dogs are the same with my hubs. His attitude is "you are lucky to be living in my house, so don't screw up." And they respond to that. You can't be soft. Make her earn it. You have to expect that she will mind you, and nothing else from her is acceptable. It's easy for me to say, but very hard to do... I don't have the right personality for it. I need an easy dog. I want to love and nurture. That's not what you need for training.

UH sell them at another swap?

Mine has trouble in the summer here.
It gets like mid 90’s, they dug holes in the shade and played in the water.
That is the plan. I paid $1 per egg. You can get $10-15 for turkey poults. And i might keep some to go with the 10 poults i bought. Looks like another hoop coop is in order!
Did i mention i got Tolbunt Polish and a Speckled Sussex young trio?

She’s well on her way to outgrowing this kennel. I tried to take selfies with her, and she hated it.
