ok well it happened dog got out and had my hen before i could do anything. So feathers are gone on one side and skin is gone so should i just kill her? She is up walking all over seems alert, Hasn't drank yet. One web site said honey is natural antibiotic should i bring her in and wrap her up? what to do

Post pictures please. You said she is walking around so it sounds like she's not in shock so that is very good. They can easily regrow feathers just give them some feather fixer feed so no worries there. How bad is the tissue wound? The same thing happened to my White Leghorn but she didn't survive

They can recover from loss of skin as long as infection doesn't set in.
Keep it clean,
regular triple antibiotic (nothing with -caine pain relief-it can be toxic to birds),
to keep from drying out too much and help fight infection.

I've seen some incredible wounds recovered from here on BYC.
Will take some time to monitor and care for her....up to you if you want to or not.

I have neosprin pain relief i dont see where it says anydthing that says caine pain refief

Please post in the emergencies and injuries area. You should get a lot more answers there.
I asked a moderator to move it, but it might take awhile.
But looks like OP did start a new thread https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1137646/dog-attack-help

this is bad what do you all think?
That does look extensive. I'd rinse it with some warm water, or saline if you've got it, just to get any debris off of it.
Let her rest over night, keep her in a warm place, let her start to get over the shock.
Tomorrow see if she's eating and drinking, then you can clean further and apply some antibiotic.
The neo pain relief cream I have says methylparaben..google says it's an anti fungal...not sure what the pain relief ingredient is.
