I am new to the forum and raising quail and been researching egg carton options and haven't found anything that I am real happy with. I am not a fan of the clear plastic and flats aren't an option for retail packaging, what I would really like to find is a 30 count pulp carton but they appear to be non-existent.
After a lot of research and other post I have read from others looking for a better carton option I am strongly considering having custom cartons made. Based on the initial proposal I received a 30 count carton will run about .70 each which is more than the clear plastic options but in my opinion will provide better value with less breakage and a better retail packaging appearance that could make for improved sales offsetting the costs.
Below is a prototype that was created for a 6 count carton, I would love to hear thoughts and feedback. The material isn't foam and is home compostable made from vegetable starch. the 30 ct carton will be nearly the same width and length as a 12 ct chicken egg carton.
